The fourth exhibition at the Ospizio Giovani Artisti since 2019 dedicated to 'queer' philosophies and theories. A term that is difficult to define and explain in a few words. Compared to five years ago however definitions concerning indefinite fluid sexuality etc. and all the implications and provocations including political and social ones are much more common and well-known. Once again this is the basic theme dealt with by the artists in the exhibition with works as always from the OGA Collection.
Quarta mostra dedicata, dal 2019, dall’Ospizio Giovani Artisti, alle filosofie e teorie ‘queer’. Un termine di difficile definizione e spiegazione in poche parole. Rispetto a cinque anni fa sono però comunque molto più comuni e conosciute le definizioni riguardanti la sessualità indefinita, fluida, ecc, e tutte le implicazioni e provocazioni anche politiche e sociali che la riguardano, che tornano ancora una volta ad essere il tema di base trattato dagli artisti presenti in mostra, con opere come sempre provenienti dalla Collezione OGA.
Johannes C. Gerard (Cologne Germany 1959). Dutch/german artist he studied at School of Printmaking and Design Cologne Germany and at Dun Laogharie School of Art and Design Dublin. During his art career lived and worked among others in Ireland Spain Argentina Taiwan. Currently lives in Berlin and The Hague (NL). Since 1981 participation in exhibitions projects video/film world festivals. In 2007 photography installation printmaking became main disciplines. In 2012 first videoinstallations. In 2014 first videofilms. At the same time became interested in performance arts.
Werther Germondari (Rimini Italy 1963) Visual artist performer and filmmaker. Interested in innovative experimental dynamics that are neo-conceptual and situational characterized by a taste for the ironic and surreal Germondari has experimented since the 80’ through many different expressive media (from painting to installations photography to film videos to live performance). Germondari's works have also been shown in solo exhibitions where he focuses on hidden elements highlighted in styles. In 2013 he founded the Ospizio Giovani Artisti.
Deborah Louise Kelly (Bronte Australia 1962). “For Creation is an elaborate contemplation of the great weight the myriad complexity the glittering webs enveloping matter and sentience. Combining playful proposition ardent queerness elegy and homage this new moving image artwork forms a call to congregants of CREATION. Made over three years around entwined global crises of health climate and justice For Creation is animated paper collage constructed from the ruins of obsolete books”.
No_Pic_No_Chat (Poland ????) is a visual artist. He creates movies photography and objects. He explores the representation of masculinity and intimacy in photography. His work is strongly based on the theory of monomyth by Joseph Campbell (The Hero with a Thousand Faces) and Carl Gustaw Jung (The Red Book). “Ofelia is a metaphoric and non-linear visual poem about transgender identity. The movie uses symbols and archetypes of gender based in our subconscious confronted with specific attributes that belong to the transgender community. In a symbolic way presents the individual transformation”.
Florindo Rilli (Cagli Italy 1962) starts in the 90s his photographic research. Concentrating on the body he enjoys playing with it and making it so versatile that most of the time it is both subject and object of representation. Interesting is also the relationship that manages to create with contemporary dance and theater in general. Other experiences come when she faces the perverse world of fetish often adopting the technique of bondage to fragment the body and make it more explorable. Numerous participations in solo and group exhibitions.
Silvia Marcantoni Taddei (Genova Italy 1994) decided to be multimedial and launched AnimaeNoctis duo with Massimo Sannelli in 2019. Each of them is photographer and model of the other one. ‘Frank-N-Furter’ the "sweet transvestite" is a photographic homage to the ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’. Massimo plays and plays with the character going beyond him (that's why "further"). He explores his own nonbinary identity in its sensual and moody sides. Even in melancholy he stays proud. This project is a tribute to the movie that made Silvia start questioning about her/their sexuality and gender identity.
Luisa Sax (Milano 1956) At the end of the '70s she lived in a house occupied by lesbian separatists from Milan and played sax in the ‘Clito’ the first Italian punk-rock group of women only. In the '90s after making experimental music and sound poetry she dedicates herself to comic poetry and cabaret’. Always in a feminist and ironic key she started to shoot very short films in super8 passing then to the experimentation in video. Her "short films" are selected at various Italian video festivals. In 2021 she publishes a book of Ludike Impudike Poems for Joker publisher.

Johannes C. Gerard (Colonia, Germania, 1959) Artista di nazionalità tedesca e olandese, ha studiato alla School of Printmaking and Design di Colonia, in Germania, e alla Dun Laogharie School of Art and Design di Dublino. Durante la sua carriera artistica ha vissuto e lavorato in molti paesi. Attualmente vive a Berlino e L'Aia. Dal 1981 partecipa a mostre, progetti, video/film in tutto il mondo. Nel 2007 la fotografia, l'installazione e la stampa sono diventate le sue discipline predilette, poi nel 2012 realizza le prime installazioni video e nel 2014 i primi video e alle arti performative.
Werther Germondari (Rimini, 1963) Artista visivo, performer e filmmaker. Attento a dinamiche innovative sperimentali neo-concettuali che si caratterizzano per un gusto ironico e surreale, svolge dai primi anni ottanta una ricerca attraverso numerosi media espressivi. Ha partecipato a esposizioni in gallerie private e spazi sperimentali internazionali, alternando installazioni d’ambiente, videowork e atti performativi, focalizzando l’attenzione su elementi nascosti, attinenti a una visione reale, sociale e politica. Nel 2013 ha ideato l’Ospizio Giovani Artisti.
Deborah Louise Kelly (Bronte, Australia, 1962) "For Creation" è un'elaborata contemplazione del grande peso e della varia complessità delle scintillanti reti che avvolgono la materia e la sensibilità. Combinando una proposta giocosa, un'ardente ‘queerness’, un'elegia e un omaggio, questa opera d'arte in movimento da vita ad una chiamata ai seguaci della ‘Creazione’. Realizzato nell'arco dei tre anni nei quali si sono si stanno intrecciando crisi globali riguardanti la salute, il clima e la giustizia, ‘For Creation’ è un collage di carta animata costruito con le rovine di libri obsoleti".
No_Pic_No_Chat (Polonia, ????) è un artista visivo. Crea film, fotografie e oggetti. Esplora la rappresentazione della mascolinità e dell'intimità nella fotografia. Il suo lavoro è fortemente basato sulla teoria del monomito di Joseph Campbell (L'eroe dai mille volti) e Carl Gustaw Jung (Il libro rosso). "Ofelia è un poema visivo metaforico e non lineare sull'identità transgender. Il film utilizza simboli e archetipi di genere presenti nel nostro subconscio confrontati con attributi specifici che appartengono alla comunità transgender. In modo simbolico presenta la trasformazione individuale".
Florindo Rilli (Cagli, 1962) dagli anni 90 inizia la sua ricerca fotografica. Concentrandosi sul corpo si diverte a giocare e renderlo così versatile da risultare il più delle volte soggetto e insieme oggetto della rappresentazione. Interessante è anche il rapporto che riesce a creare con la danza contemporanea e il teatro in genere. Sperimenta anche nel mondo del fetish, adottando spesso e volentieri la tecnica del bondage per frammentare il corpo e renderlo così segmentato più esplorabile. Numerose le sue partecipazioni a mostre personali e collettive.
Luisa Sax (Milano, 1956) A fine anni ‘70 vive in una casa occupata di separatiste lesbiche milanesi e suona il sax nelle ‘Clito’, il primo gruppo punk-rock italiano di sole donne. Negli anni ‘90 dopo aver fatto musica sperimentale e poesia sonora, si dedica alla poesia comica e al cabaret, partecipando anche al Costanzo show. Sempre in chiave femminista e ironica inizia girare brevissimi cortometraggi in super8, passando poi alla sperimentazione in video. Suoi “cortissimi” vengono selezionati a vari video festival italiani. Nel 2021 pubblica un libro di Poesie Ludike Impudike per Joker editore.
Silvia Marcantoni Taddei (Genova, 1994). Artista multimediale, ha fondato nel 2019 il duo AnimaeNoctis con Massimo Sannelli. Ognuno dei due è fotografo e modello dell'altro. Il lavoro fotografico ‘Frank-N-Furter’, il ‘dolce travestito’ è un omaggio al ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’. In esso Massimo gioca e gioca con il personaggio, andando oltre (ecco perché "oltre"). Esplora la propria identità non binaria, nei suoi lati sensuali e lunatici. Anche nella malinconia, rimane orgoglioso. Questo progetto è un omaggio al film che ha spinto Silvia a interrogarsi sulla propria sessualità e identità di genere.
