L'azione vuole giocare e scherzare sul linguaggio cinematografico, che utilizza il termine "director's cut" per indicare il montaggio che il regista avrebbe voluto per il proprio film, e che invece è contrastato dalla produzione del film stesso. A tutto questo è stato aggiunto un titolo che fa riferimento ad un personaggio letterario, più volte trasposto anche in film, con un cognome sempre riferito a qualcuno che taglia qualcosa, e soprattutto legno…
